Publication information

All speakers at MORIS2026 are strongly encouraged to submit their manuscripts to the Focused Collection of the Japanese Journal of Applied Physics (JJAP). JJAP is an international peer reviewed journal (JCP Impact factor 2024: 1.8) published by IOP Publishing Ltd on behalf of the Japan Society of Applied Physics. The published papers are registered on major databases such as SCOPUS and Web of Science. The submitted manuscripts are subject to the same peer-review standards as articles published in Regular Issues of JJAP.

For reference, the papers associated with the previous MORIS conference (MORIS2024, York, UK) were published as a Special Issue of JJAP, which can be accessed at: https://iopscience.iop.org/collections/jjap-240828-01.
For MORIS2026, accepted papers will be published in a Focus Collection of JJAP under the journal’s current publication format.

The publication charge for Focus Collection articles follows the journal's policy for this category. In addition, the MORIS2026 committee will provide additional financial support of 20,000 JPY per paper toward this charge. For detailed information on publication charges, please refer to the official JJAP Publication Charges page: https://iopscience.iop.org/journal/1347-4065/page/Publication_Charges

Authors can select the paper types: Progress review (Invited speakers only) and Regular paper (All speakers). Brief Note is also acceptable. Details of the paper type are:

Progress Reviews

Progress Reviews provide concise, efficient overviews covering the latest progresses in a specific research area of applied physics. It can include or be largely based on the recent results for the author(s). Manuscripts should be written as concisely as possible although no limitation on length is specified. Abstract should be no more than 150 words.

Regular Papers

A Regular Paper is an original paper with comprehensive, detailed descriptions of the research work, presenting a fully developed discussion on the results obtained in relevant fields of applied physics. It must provide sufficient and self-contained information to ensure the repeatability of experiments and analyses by readers. There is no length limit; however, the abstract should not exceed 150 words. The expected number of references is approximately more than 30.

Brief Notes

Brief Note is a short report on significant improvements in instrumentation, fabrication processes, measurement techniques, and theoretical analyses, and also serve as an archive of knowledge useful for applied physics, such as important material parameters. The research topic described must be of interest to researchers working in applied physics. The maximum length of a Brief Note is 2,700 words and 3 single-column width figures. An abstract of no more than 100 words should be provided. The expected number of references for a BN paper is approximately 20, however, no upper or lower limit is specified. Other than this, Brief Notes should not be divided into sections.
